Stowe Dance Academy is pleased to announce its 2010 Summer Dance Program. SDA’s Summer Dance Intensives are designed for both the young dancer who is looking for a fun filled week full of dance, but also for the aspiring future dancer who wants a pre-professional program in a healthy and welcoming environment. Class size will be limited and each dancer will receive plenty of individualized attention.
SDA’s goal is to create versatile dancers and looks forward to continue in that tradition into its 20th year!

Hair/ Make up & things you need to supply your Dancer/Child with –

For Peter Pan

➢ Theatrical (peach) ballet tights with feet for Peter Pan.  Convertible tights for older girls are okay if the hole is tucked in.  No shiny tights
➢ Black or white shoes for boys (see your dance). 

➢ A nude (skin colored) leotard to wear under costumes, if you have costume changes. 

➢ Hair Items:  black or brown hair elastics, hairpins, hair net, hair gel and hairspray – your own brush or comb.  Hair is in a low bun (nape of neck),– please come to Dibden with hair done on the day of the dress rehearsal and for all the shows.
➢
For Peter Pan and after Intermission dances

➢ Make Up:  Everyone must come with their own makeup kit to include the following items:
o Base/Foundation – skin colored or slightly darker
o Blush – pinkish (on cheekbones – heavier than street makeup)
o Brown Eye Shadow (on lid)
o Liquid Eyeliner (slightly bigger than outline of eye)
o Eyebrow Pencil (fill in eyebrows lightly)
o Mascara (except for Ballet Int 3 & up – False Eyelashes and Glue)
o Powder (lightly cover entire face)
o Red Lipstick (bring to Dibden to apply after costumes are on)

Important: No make up necessary for Dress rehearsal.  Makeup should be done at home (except lipstick)- kit will be used to touch up as needed.  It gets very crowded in the dressing rooms, so parents that are not working back stage will not be permitted to do their child’s makeup in the dressing rooms.  We would really appreciate your cooperation on this!!!

Crocodiles- Motion to Music-
Hair in braids pinned to the head at the nape of the neck
Girls- Pink tights, and camisole, or short sleeve leotard (no skirt attached, this is to wear under their costume)
Boys- underwear white tights and a short sleeve tight t-shirt. Come to the Theater In your regular ballet class outfit.

Bubbles -Dance /Movement
Hair-Low pigtails pin and gel bangs back away from face.
pink tights and pink ballet shoes (girls)

Jellyfish- Pre Ballet & Ballet Beg. 1
Hair in a bun, no bangs.
Girls- pink tights and Pink shoes

Starfish –Ballet Beg. 2
Hair in a bun, no bangs.
Girls- pink tights and pink shoes

Indian Children – Ballet Beg. 2
Hair in 2 low braids, no bangs.
Pink tights and Pink shoes

Pirate Children – Girls –Pink tights and pink shoes
Girls hair in a very low bun.
Boys – Black tights and black shoes

Seashells & Star dust -Ballet Int. 1
Hair in a low bun, no bangs.
Girls- pink tights and shoes, nude leotard is recommended
Boys- white tights and white shoes. Duncan white Dove Shirt from last year.

Tropical Flowers & Octopus -Ballet Int. 2
Hair in a low bun, now bangs.
Girls- pink tights and pink shoes, Nude leotard

Jungle Fairies- Ballet Beg. 4
Hair in a low bun, no bangs.
Pink tights and pink shoes
Nude leotard is recommended

Indians- Ballet Int. 3
Hair in 2 low braids, no bangs.

Hair in 2 low braids pinned to the back of the head (very low, very tight)

Hair in wigs (keep hair the same as lost boys under)
Pink tights and Blue pointe shoes (we will paint them)

Dances after Intermission-

Jazz- Hip Hop- Tap Modern, Contemporary- All costumes will be at the Theater (unless your dancer has been asked to supply her/his own)

Jail House Rock -Jazz Beg 2 – Black jazz shoes, nude tights for girls. -Hair in 2 low pigtails for girls.
Boys – Black jazz shoes and white tight t-shirt for under the costume.

Bond girls are Forever – Jazz Int.1 – Nude convertible tights, nude leotard, Black Jazz shoes
–Hair in 2 low braids pinned tightly to the back of the head.

Cruel World (new name)– Jazz Int. 2 –Nude tights, Black Jazz shoes. – Costume will be provided
–Hair in high ponytail.

Jump – Jazz Int.3- Foot undies or bare feet.-
Hair in very high pigtails. We’re working on a costume……

Don’t Wait Up – Jazz Adv. – Nude tights or bare legs.

TRIP Dance Company hosted a successful Dance Intensive Workshop held January 24-25, 2009 at Stowe Mountain Lodge at Spruce Peak.  Master teacher Tracie Stanfield held classes in Contemporary Lyrical and Commercial Jazz. Returning master teacher Chio held classes in jazz funk and hip hop.  A showcase performance highlighted all participants in this well-attended workshop.
